HOLIDAY STRESS
Ho, Ho, Ho, and the race is on. The last few days I had gone out to do some last minute shopping, and what I saw was amazing, there was actually a traffic jam at a well known fast food place, in the parking lot ! People every where, fifteen to twenty minute lines just to check out the purchases made..This is total madness..Talk about stress…
I”m usually done way before the holiday, but this year due to travel etc. I found myself a bit behind the eight ball as it were, so I joined the masses, shopping the week before Christmas.True, the sales were great at some stores and I did get some wonderful bargains, but I wonder if it was all worth it. What I saved in money, I certaily paid for in aggravation and antacids. Then, add the meals to plan, the wrapping to be done and the house to prerpare for guests…Whew.
It seems we have lost the simplicity of years gone by in regards to the Christmas holiday..I mean, we prepare so much for 1 day, a few hours of oohs and ahhs, and its all over in a few hours.
The reason for the holiday is and has always been, peace, love and good will towards men. Do you think we could ever get that concept back? Or have we just lost all common sence, me included.
