MEMORY
I have spent most of this Saturday making a memory book for my daughter. What a lovely walk through memory lane it was for me. I got the idea in august when my other daughter gave me a book to fill out called “Conversations With My Mother.”
This book asked questions about my life and requested pictures that led to each event. I found it so heart warming to write down how my life spanned so many years, all the things that have led me to this point. This walk had me on a scavenger hunt through boxes and boxes of pictures, (yes, its true ..they are not in an album). then the hunt led me to my mother’s house , there I found pictures that survived a world war and have traveled through 3 countries.(in albums I might add). I found all that I needed to complete the mission..
After completing the book for my daughter, and seeing the reaction on her face, led me to do the same for my other daughter as a gift.
How wonderful to be able to see the smile on their faces, as opposed to having them do the deed after I am gone from this earth. When they open and read the little notes I have included under each picture. I not only placed pictures of my beginnings, but I also included a segment called ” This is your life” school pictures, report cards, awards etc. leading them to this time in their lives… I’m almost finished with the project and am looking forward to seeing the look on her face…
Besides this is a two fold blessing, they get to walk through their life and I get to minimize the picture box….not bad eh ?
