HE RESTORES MY SOUL
Many years ago when I was first introduced to the Bible, I read a scripture in Psalm 23 verse 3 “He restores my soul” ,to my limited mind I wondered ” what in the heck did that mean..” I figured restoration of soul was good and if it was good I wanted it. But what is a soul ? How does it compare to your spirit ? To this inquisitive mind, this meant, PROJECT….I had to know the difference, so the search began.
I found the the spirit is the inner core of man. But the soul, was completely separate..
Websters defines the soul as; The principle of life, feeling, thought and action in man. the emotional part of man….OK, but that was not enough for me, so on went the search..The Greek translation for soul is the word “PSYCHE” which describes a person’s mind, will and emotions. In fact that is where we get the word “psychiatrist” from, which is a person that deals with the mind, will and emotions of another person.
With my questions answered , now I began to understand the scripture in the 23rd Psalm verse 3…God restores my mind, my will, and my emotions, so since I needed all three restored in a big way, I figured, have at it Lord, I really had nothing to loose and everything to gain…makes sense.
So , if you are feeling frazzeled lately, give it a try and turn it over to the One who restores.
