I WONDER

Watching the news, reading the paper, listening to the people around you, all you hear is how bad things are in this world..Economy is crashing all around us, there are lay-offs every where, so many are affected in one manner or another.

This got me thinking, should things get worse,  I WONDER …..

How would we react to the crisis, if we  could not afford certain things in our lives that we had become accustomed to, and every penny earned had to count?

Would we start darning socks, instead of throwing them out?

Would we ride our bikes, instead of taking the car those few block to get some milk ?

In cutting down on energy, would we limit time on video games or television, and make our children use their (OK, here it goes)  imagination and perhaps, dare say it read a book ?

Would last years shoes and clothing do?

Could we survive with just a few present at holidays or birthdays ?

Would leftovers no longer be a cuss word?

Would birthday parties be as much fun at home as they are at Chucky Cheese?

   Would camping be fashionable again?

Would cleaning ones own house be classified as exercise?

Would ironing clothes make a comeback?

There are so many things we take for granted, have we become spoiled, can we survive on bare necessities?

There are so many in our country alone, that live that way all the time…They will survive this crisis…But will we?

Although I was  raised in that manner, I know for me it would kinda hard to give up Godiva chocolates, shoes and purses.Gasp!!!!!!!

     Just a thought..
